Most Americans living down here, describe Costa Rica as "Hawaii on steroids 70 years ago," As you travel with us, you will see some of what we enjoy daily. Get to know the typical Costa Rica at the spots we've chosen. You will have free time to play pickleball, wander and choose the activities the desire. (Optional) tours are also available on free days.
You will stay, tour, and play in 2 distinct areas; the rural, cool Central Highlands (where we live) and later play pickleball in the tropical rainforest in the Pacific Coastal area.
During your trip, you will see;
- Beautiful waterfalls.
- Lots of animals .
- The beauty of the rain forest with it's lush flora.
- A small, family-run organic coffee farm; a treat to all who visit!
- A family-run butterfly farm that raises and sells butterfly pupa or chrysalises to countries world-wide. (Costa Rica boasts the largest variety of butterfly species in the world).
(Both tours are not your typical commercial tourist traps. You will not only learn about coffee and butterflies, you will have a chance to meet very sweet Costa Ricans in their home environment. These trips are highly rated by every past pickler we've had).
- Learn about some of Costa Rica's rural culture, crafts, and history at a famous artisan town known for its wood-working and amazing ingenuity, which is still used today.
- See families of white faced capuchin monkeys and coatis in the wild at the beach. We'll provide fruit for you to feed them, as they gently take it from your fingers.
- Our second hotel is set on 2 beaches. The resort has 11 sports and 11 water sports, daily scheduled classes, pools, and lots to see and do. Scarlet macaws & the white-faced capuchins are real entertainment here at this hotel.
- Experience our favorite 3 mile long, deserted and palm-lined beach. The sunsets are amazing!
